Frequently Asked Questions

What is counselling?

Counselling is a confidential and supportive space where you can talk openly about your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. It provides an opportunity to explore challenges, gain insight, and develop ways to move forward in a safe, non-judgemental environment. I know it can be really scary to start, so get in touch for a free 20 minute chat to ask any questions you have

How do I know if counselling is right for me?

If you are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, low in mood, or stuck in certain areas of your life, counselling may be helpful. Many people find counselling beneficial when dealing with grief, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, or life transitions. If you are unsure, we can discuss your needs during an initial consultation.

What happens in the first counselling session?

The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. We will talk about what brings you to counselling, what you hope to achieve, and how we might work together. It’s also a chance for you to ask any questions about the counselling process.

How many counselling sessions will I need?

The number of sessions varies depending on your needs and goals. Some people benefit from short-term counselling (6–12 sessions), while others may prefer longer-term support. We can review your progress regularly and work at a pace that feels right for you.

Is counselling confidential?

Yes, confidentiality is a fundamental part of the counselling relationship. What you share in sessions stays private, with a few legal exceptions, such as if there is a risk of serious harm to yourself or others. These limits to confidentiality will be discussed clearly during our first meeting.

Do you offer online counselling?

Yes, I offer online session via google meet. This provides flexibility and can be helpful if you prefer the comfort of your own home.

How do I book a session?
